So, spring is coming along, and the flowers are beginning to grow, which is why I thought of doing a spring inspired design. I chose to accent my nails, rather than do all of them, because I think the design looks weird if its repeated over and over again. I used an emerald green, as it is the color of the year, according to Pantone, but you can choose any color green you like!
What you need:
- toothpick / striper
- dotting tool / hair pins
- white, green and yellow polish ( I used ANNY green racing drag, P2 summer to go!, and Orly white).
This I how you create the design:
1) Apply one or two layers of green nail polish, depending on how opaque your polish is, and let it dry completely!
2) Using a dotting tool, or a hair pin, create two dots on each nail you chose to do the design on, but place the dots further apart.
3) Using a striper, or a tooth pick, drag thin, white lines toward one dot, but don't connect the lines to the dot.
4) Do the same for the other dot.
5) Let the design dry and apply your fav topcoat!
Tips and tricks:
- After applying nail polish, put your hand into cold water for a few seconds, pull them out, and put them into even cooler water for about 30 seconds, this helps the polish dry faster.
Hope you like this design, it was inspired by: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pnO2U_FnNbs. Check out her tutorials! Send me pictures at catchy.bling@gmail.com, if you try out any nail art I post! xoxo, Marethyu

Cute DIY idea :D
I'm so, so sorry! I haven't posted in such a long time, it's just that I have so much to do, I'm totally behind schedule. Anyway, the clothes I ordered have finally arrived, and I'll share an outfit I created with one of the pieces tomorrow, or on Thursday. So, the DIY, or how-to, I was thinking of doing was related to nail polish, because I love nail art, but I didn't do any, because of a lot of stuff going on..I'm thinking of doing little hearts and kiss-y lips for Valentine's day, or some Tribal or Galaxy Print themed nails, matching my dresses. I should buy clothes that match, but my closet if filled with random tribal print, edgy, girly, frilly, neutral, maritime styles, and I am totally confused on how to match this disaster.
xoxo, Marethyu (don't forget to check back for the tutorial, and the Outfit of the Day, coming up on Thursday or Friday!)

Vintage Decoration Idea
Where are the plans we made for two? Well, I didn't make any plans, because I reject most guys. Heartless muahaha. No, actually, I'm at a pay phone trying to call home, all of my change I spent on you..
Anyway, that is one of my favorite songs at the moment.
So what I really wanted to tell you was that one of my best friends always (ALWAYS!) crumples up all of her papers. She does that to create a cool, vintage look. She writes song lyrics, poems, quotes, etc. on paper, with pretty, colorful, cutesy pens. She then crumples up her paper until it is all soft and pretty. You can use the vintage looking paper as bookmarks, posters, and decoration.
I will put up a bunch of my favorite songs by MIKA, Maroon 5, and The All American Rejects on my walls. You can frame the paper using some sort of colored tape, it's Japanese and easy to remove, but I forgot the name, sorry! Hope you liked this deco idea, I sure did. xoxo Marethyu

Nail Art DIY - Glitter polish.
We all know glitter polishes spice up the plain, monotone colored nail, but did you know that you can do some creative (and super stylish!) designs using glitter polishes? Here come some designs to serve you as inspiration.
First, you will need polish of any color to serve as the background (although the natural nail looks awesome too), I used OPI's Suzi & The Lifeguard, an assortment of glitter polishes, I used OPI's Serving Up Sparkle and Jafra's Love Affair, and a dotting tool (alternatively you could use bobby pins).
Nail Polishes I used. |
This is how it'll look.
1) Start applying nail polish just a little higher than the center of your nail, and fill in the top half your nail.
2) Use a little bit of polish and tip a triangular, lightly sparkly, design on the bottom half of your nail.
Design 2. Accent tips.
The final look.
1) Use the tip of your nail polish brush to apply glitter to the tips of your nail.
2) Apply more glitter if needed.
Or use a dotting tool to apply the polish on the tip of your nail.
Design 3. Simplicity.
1) Just pull a streak of polish, either horizontally of vertically, to create some bling without drawing too much attention.
The final look!
I applied silver and red glitter polish to my ring finger to set an accent. This is all, hope you had fun and found some inspiration. xoxo Marethyu
Ps. This would look great for Valentine's day!

How to: Friendship Diary
Hey, I just wanted to mention that this post was made on my old blog, which I won't be updating anyway, and I liked this post, so I put it up here :).
Today was great...again! :P My best friend and I bought an A4 sized book and started using it as a Friendship Diary....To write a friendship diary, you need: A notebook, Stickers, Glitter, Color Pens and Pencils, a Ruler, Pictures and Something to write about...duh. :)It took us one hour just to draw the cover page where we wrote "Friendship Diary" and our names. Then, on the next page, each one of us wrote about what we think of the other; like when and where we met, what we think of them, their character, what we do together, etc. After that,we skipped writing our Profile, because we didn't have enough time. We just drew a nail polish table, where I, using nail polish, wrote down each name. When doing this you should create something funny, for e.g. you could classify white as snow white, or glitter as icicles. That is what we did. :D We just started the diary, so I'm gonna post further steps as time passes.Have a nice day, Marethyu and her BFF :*
